We are pleased to announce an International Scientific Meeting on Marine Renewable Energy and the Environment (MAREE 2008) will take place in London in June 2008.

This conference is an outcome of the European Policy Workshop on Offshore Wind Power Deployment (Berlin 2007).

The conference aims to:

  • Distil the evidence base on environmental effects of marine renewable energy developments - the prime focus will be offshore wind
  • Define the major basic and applied environmental research questions that remain to be answered for strategic and project level environmental management
  • Facilitate information exchange between scientists, regulators, industry and others
  • Improve international networking and collaboration

It will be held on the 16th and 17th June 2008 in the historic Faraday Lecture Theatre of the Royal Institution of Great Britain, in the heart of London.

This conference will be a milestone event with wide participation from the UK, Europe and internationally. Register now by CLICKING HERE.

The International Scientific Meeting on Marine Renewable Energy and the Environment is being sponsored and organised by the UK’s Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, COWRIE and the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs. An international Science Committee will guide the selection of papers and posters, and see the proceedings through to peer reviewed open access publication.
